Blank Screen

So I click play on Steam, see a few developer intros etc, i see some dots bottom left of the screen.  Then I get a blank screen with the shift+tab from steam and nothing happens and i believe its crashed.  Any suggestions to sort this out?

Can you try verifying your game files in the game properties? Perhaps a fresh install may also help
